Kaz-Agro 2016 was a three day event and was held at the Korme Exhibition Centre in Astana, Kazakhstan. This event showcased products like equipment and products for the development of animal husbandry and for the meat and dairy industry in the agriculture and forestry industry.
Canada had a big presence at this show and with the help from the Canadian Angus Association and Canadian Hereford Association, live cattle were displayed outdoors for the first time, promoting Canadian genetics.
Since lamb and mutton are part of the traditional diet in Kazakhstan, there was a significant interest in improving the genetics in the sheep industry. Boda's previous cross-breeding program in Shymkent attracted the interest of several producers in Kazakhstan and we are looking forward to returning to discuss possibilities in the future.
See you again in June, 2017!
