Boda attended the agriculture exhibition, ATAR III, in Tsagaanuur, Mongolia in 2009. The following year Gatsuurt LLC imported embryos and semen from South African Dorper, Katahdin and Saanen goats from us and we assisted in developing their new sheep and goat facility. The facility was designed to hold 3000 head as well as store feed through the harsh winter months of northern Mongolia.
As you can see under the "A.I/ET Project" tab below, the selection process was quite the task. We implemented management tools used in Canada and trained the local shepherds on how to use them to improve reproductive results. Feed rations were developed based on feed stuffs produced by Gatsuurt LLC and semen inseminations and embryo implants were completed in December of 2010.
This was a successful project and we wish Gatsuurt LLC well with their new Canadian genetics!
